Money is really the symbol of the life energy we exchange and the life energy we use as a result of the service we provide to the universe. Another word for money is currency, which also reflects the flowing nature of energy. The word currency comes from the Latin word currere which means to run or to flow.
~ Deepak Chopra, The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success.
Reiki practitioners normally charge the going rate for Reiki or Massage Therapy in their area. In Walla Walla, this is at the rate of $60 per treatment. Unfortunately, Reiki, as far as I know, is not covered by insurance. The rates may seem expensive, but please keep in mind that money is also a form of energy (Chopra, 1994; Grabhorn 2000). We all work to earn money at our jobs, so it makes sense that we trade some money energy for healing Reiki energy. Also, remember that a one hour treatment usually requires pre- and post-treatment interviews usually adding up to another half hour of time, in addition to the time needed by the practitioner to prepare the room before the treatment, including washing linens and completing records, and doing the bookkeeping after the treatment. Thus a one-hour treatment is usually a time expenditure of two hours for the Reiki practitioner. Of course, the value of a Reiki treatment is determined by the individual client, and it is always up to the client how many treatments they wish to schedule based on their own judgments of health benefits received.
Also, please remember to see your health care provider first if you have symptoms of a serious illness. Reiki is a complement to, but not a substitute for, standard Western medicine, chiropractic care, massage therapy or any other alternative medicine.
